THE BONNIE BABIES CHALLENGE
The next challenge will take place over 4 months. Jan - April.
Its in 4 parts and one aspect of it is that you wont know what the whole challenge Is
until the last month. On the 1st of each month you will be told what happens
next.
The challenge for Jan is very simple... Knit as many blankets as possible
by the end of the month.
Theres no target and therefore its impossible to fail.
Obviously the more blankets the better.
On
1st Feb you will be told what the next stage of the challenge will be

I hope you're all ready to get going on stage 2 of this challenge.
As 397 blankets have been knitted in stage 1 (January) the challenge for February will be for members to knit double that in cardigans and vent bonnets.
The challenge is for 800 cardigans and 800 vent bonnets to be made by the end of February
AND added to that is the challenge for any member to write a pattern for a blanket and donate the copyright to BB, also by the end of the month.

Part 3 of our challenge
Therefore as a treat I thought I would make the third part very simple and easy
to do. All you all have to do is knit hats - 3,500 of them. They can be any
hats BUT we do need loads of the little pull on ones and at least 500 have to
be vent bonnets.
As the challenge to write a new blanket pattern was met really well another
part of this challenge is to write or design a pattern for any item we make,
except blankets, and donate the pattern and copyright to BB. This part of the
challenge will run until the end of April.

The
challenge was to make 3500 bonnets/hats in just
one month. once again we beat it and our total was 4865 taking us over our total
by an amazing 1365
Brilliant
totals guys well done to everyone online and off,
all the listeners to all the BBC Radio stations and anyone else out
there who believe in BB and what we are doing,
that really was......... job well done
Make sure you all give yourself a pat on the back guys because thats 4865 tiny
babies
now have a brand new BB hat to wear!
Part four........
First of all congratulations to all members of BB on absolutely smashing the third part of this challenge.
As you've all done so well I've decided to make the final part of the challenge very simple.
You can make whatever you like with a few exceptions. The items not included in this challenge are mittens and bootees as we have loads now, keepsake items and toys. Any blankets have to be a minimum of 18 inches square to be counted. I would never specifically include burial items in a challenge but they are included in overall numbers this time and we really do need them.
The target to reach is 6000 items and at least 500 have to be sewn. Part of the challenge is to make sure there is a real mix of things made.
I told you it would be simple.
WOW what can I say guys......
The totals for the challenges over the last 4 months are amazing they really are. I have never in my life counted so many tiny hats, blankets cardys etc and believe me it can actually wear you out, even my hands hurt over the last few weeks opening up so many parcels, emailing and sending out letters of thanks to so many people
I think your all showing off really but to be serious you should all feel so very very proud of what has been achieved in such a short time
Total Items for our Challenge over the last 4 months has reached an amazing 17,768 baby items
I think everyone online and off should give themselves a pat on the back and well done from me for being so dedicated to BONNIE BABIES
Am proud of all of you and of course a huge thank you to Krafty for setting a challenge some thought would be impossible to reach yet we once again did it guys
